I love tools, because I love working on cars. I stumbled upon these bad boys today, and while it may not be cheap or anything... I want... so... bad...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
What else have you seen that you want but is entirely unnecessary or waaay too expensive, but went ahead and bought it anyway?

Model trains, I've spent close to a thousand dollars in the past ten years adding onto a collection at an age that's too young to fully appreciate nor have the time or cash funds to maintain and use them properly.

Do you still have them? I've never seen one in person, not to say assembled one.

This is true. A lot of ppl consider Apple devices a simple gadget with a big tag, but they're truly amazing devices if you know how to use them to their full potential.

I'm generally pretty frugal, but I did just drop $200 on motorcycle gloves, and then another $80 on MMA gloves.... my hands are pretty spoiled lately.

Alpine's gloves are well worth the money. From your name I gather you drive a yamaha, R6?

I dual booted windows 8 and OSX and ran wine for certain apps within OSX and it was the perfect laptop for a student plus it had decent low mid range gpu for some light gaming on the go. The best part of owning an apple laptop though? At the end of the day I have bought two and sold them for a combined $100 loss. Try that with a PC.

So much win. I used my mbp for data analysis that took 15x less than on my work computer, so I saved tons of time. And just like you, lost nearly no moolah when I sold it.

F'yeah. I wan an fz09 quite badly. Has to be black with the blue/purple accents... I'm drooling already.
Make sure you post a reply here, I want to make sure I don't miss that post! haha. Also I just saw the MMA gloves, how long have you been doing it? I've always wanted to get into MMA/Kick-boxing, but I've always worked like my life depends on it, so I've never had the chance.

I have my built windows desktop with 256gb Samsung 840 PRO ssd and a chromebook and neither resumes from sleep as quickly or as smoothly as my MBA, an essential need for me as a father of two toddlers. It's basically run around the house for a space to sit and get things done, work for two minutes, close laptop after they find me, move and repeat. MBA are ready to go as fast as you can open the screen.

My dad just got an FZ09 but in orange, which is gorgeous. And I did Krav Maga for a year, moved back to Michigan, and I've been doing BJJ, muay thai, boxing, and MMA for the past year. Was cutting for a fight before I found out I needed surgery, so I'll be taking at least a month off :( And don't let the schedule deter you, a friend of mine works at least 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and has 2 gym memberships.... my mma gym for training, and powerhouse for lifting.

I have enough track, controllers, and trains to run four separate sets but I'm just an amateur modeler.
The serious guys run engines with miniature computer chips with artificial sounds and wireless remote control on giant layouts capable of handling a dozen engine running at different speeds at the same time versus off-the-shelf train sets that can only handle 2 at best.

Wow thats awesome! reminded me of the show by James May "Man Lab" where they use a model train to bring stuff around their building, kind of how that video follows the train. Such neat stuff. Do you have the track laid out and everything still? Or just assemble it every once in a while?

Yummy, I don't think I've seen one in orange in person.
Wow well there's what I call dedication. I hope you can get a fight soon after your recovery! Yeah I want to do that, its more than anything excuses and the fact that I need to be reachable 24/7 for work. But that should be no excuse... you're right.

I just assemble pieces of track together from time to time, just to make sure the engines are still oiled up and running fine. Although I really need to take a grinder and off the corrosion that's built up on the rails.
